WaerLinx Now Incorporates Document Management

October 13 2011

The latest release of our WaerLinx supply chain solution sees some impressive new features included as standard. We are going to be releasing a series of press releases on these over the next couple of weeks and this is the first. The feature that we feel will have the biggest benefit for our customers is the new document management functions in the software.

In essence, the new functions allow WaerLinx users to upload documents at given points in the supply chain. Suppliers can add drawings and C of C documents to advanced shipping notices, warehouse operators could add shipping documents at dispatch. Basically, any document that you want to be associated with a single stock item during its cycle through the chain can be added and tracked to the relevant parts.

The benefits are significant. Total, real-time traceability has always been a USP for WaerLinx but now, this is enhanced by tagging the right documents to the right items too. Naturally, all paperwork or design drawings can be accessed and re-printed at the touch of a button.

Kim Noyce, Operations Director at Waer believes that this is a great addition for our customers that manage drawn parts through WaerLinx. She states "the document management features are so easy to use and can be used to provide effective, secure access to a wide variety of items, including engineering drawings, airway bills, ITAR certificates and, in fact, any kind of document that may be need to be produced for commercial or compliance purposes.”
