The subject of bonded stores is a question we often get asked about by our customers and prospects. Essentially, a bonded warehouse is a facility that is authorised by a government’s customs and excise department for the storage of dutiable goods without paying the duties on those goods until they are released for sale. As a result, any company that has international capabilities or aspirations has a need to manage their inventory in bonded warehousing.

The management of bonded stores can be a tricky business, especially if the supply chain around them is complex. The more you can utilise the best IT solutions to help with this, the easier the task is and so, in response to the needs of several of our customers, Waer have built a bonded warehouse module for the WaerLinx supply chain solution.

Like all other modules within WaerLinx, the Bonded Warehouse module is designed to integrate fully with other third party software packages and proprietary ERP systems including SAP, Oracle, Baan and others. It can also be used as a stand-alone solution when combined with the WMS capabilities of WaerLinx. Naturally, the module sits in the WaerLinx Cloud architecture so the speed and cost of rollout are minimised in comparison to an installed solution.
