Barjan distributes retail items to truck-stop forecourts across the US. They have a primary warehouse in Rock Island, Illinois and a secondary distribution center in Reno, Nevada. They offer next-day delivery to almost 2,000 customers and handle 100,000 SKUs.

Barjan wanted to enable customer collaboration, allowing remote realtime sales with full inventory visibility by location. They wanted to use this data to analyze, recommend and automate product replenishment and stocking strategies. The ultimate goal was to increase sales and margins for all Barjan stakeholders.

WaerLinx helped them do this, delivering a rapid and significant return on investment:

  • Reduced costs: lower transaction costs and reduced waste and returns.
  • Greater efficiency: fewer stock-outs, increased inventory turns and higher productivity of sales reps.
  • Increased turnover: fewer lost sales opportunities, improved customer loyalty and greater market share.
  • Improved traceability: leveraging GTIN (Global Trade Identification Numbering) to identify produce for traceability throughout the supply chain.

"This system will enable us to bring our customers closer by providing them with automated replenishment, thus increasing their sales and making it much easier for them to do business with us; everybody wins."
